Matching Gift and Volunteer Grant information provided by

NC GreenPower is an independent nonprofit improving the quality of our state’s environment by supporting renewable energy, carbon offset projects and providing grants for solar installations at K-12 schools.

Our goal is to supplement the state’s existing power supply with more green energy – that is, energy generated from renewable energy sources like the sun, wind, water, and organic matter. NC GreenPower also offers carbon offsets to address growing concerns about the impact of greenhouse gases on our ecosystem. Donations to the program also support our Solar Schools pilot, bringing solar PV, curriculum and hands-on learning tools to students in North Carolina.

NC GreenPower is all about sharing the benefits of cleaner energy sources and a healthier environment. Give the gift of green power with a donation in honor or memory of a friend, colleague or loved one. You can choose to support renewable energy, generated right here in North Carolina, contribute to carbon offsets mitigated within our region, or support our Solar+ Schools grant program. Recipients will receive an email letting them know of your donation on their behalf.

Utility Bill Signup

NC GreenPower is the first green energy program in the nation to win the support of all the electric utilities in the state. Find your utility provider at the link below and follow the links to sign up. These donations are noted as a separate line item on your electric bill and can be made in any increment of $4. The utilities pass all contributions in their entirety to NC GreenPower on a monthly basis. If your provider is not listed, you may also make one-time or monthly direct contributions to the NC GreenPower program online.
